What Apne Aap Does:

We organise small groups of women and girls who are at the risk of or are affected by trafficking, into self-empowerment groups in our programme area to access three fundamental rights – education, sustainable & dignified livelihood and legal empowerment as per our 3L model. Self empowerment groups meet in local safe spaces which offer community classrooms, vocational training units and legal education.

By joining an Apne Aap programme each woman and girl gains ten assets to help transform her life: access to a safe space, membership in a self-empowerment group, education for herself and her children, the ability to share stories and discuss her abuse or trauma, the ability to speak about her rights publicly and to authorities, political consciousness, vocational training, her own bank account, increased legal knowledge, and enrollment in poverty alleviating government programs.

We connect survivors’ voices directly to the political and legislative process and advocate for policy that will enable every woman to be free.

We educate the public about the systemic realities of human trafficking.

We advocate for the need to stem the demand side of sex trafficking, because men must actively participate in creating a future where no woman or girl is bought or sold.
